In order for a judge to be able to pronounce judgment there must be a law in place by which he will judge. The law should be objective. In other words it should be without bias or prejudice or else justice will not prevail. The Bible reveals to man that the law by which God will use for at the judgment will be the Word of God. Jesus said, “He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day” (John 12:48). The Word of God is objective. It did not come from the mind of men but rather from God. Peter wrote:

Knowing this first that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost
— 2 Peter 1:20-21

Peter is teaching that private interpretations, opinions, and points of view are not part of the objective standard used by God to judge mankind. God is very serious about this matter. He warned man about this fact through the inspired pen of John:

For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
— Revelation 22:18-19

The Word of God cannot be an objective standard if man adds or deletes one word from it. If he does, he changes the intended purpose of the standard. Case and point is the situation surrounding Eve in her confrontation with the serpent in the Garden of Eden.

God’s Law says:

And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
— Genesis 2:16-17

Satan’s said:

And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die
— Genesis 3:4

The Word of God stands alone as the objective measuring tool by which God will judge mankind!
