How We Worship

How We Worship - North Main church of Christ

At the North Main church of Christ, we worship God according to the simple, reverent pattern found in the New Testament. Our worship each Lord’s Day includes five acts:

1. Singing

We offer heartfelt praise to God through acapella singing, as the early church did (Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16).

2. Praying

We lift our voices in prayer, giving thanks, seeking guidance, and interceding for others (1 Thessalonians 5:17; Acts 2:42).

3. Preaching

We proclaim God’s Word to build up and equip the church (Acts 20:7; 2 Timothy 4:2).

4. Giving

We cheerfully give as we have prospered to support the work of the church (1 Corinthians 16:1-2; 2 Corinthians 9:7).

5. The Lord’s Supper

Every Sunday, we remember Christ’s sacrifice by partaking of the unleavened bread and the fruit of the vine (Acts 20:7; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26).

Beyond our assemblies, we also worship God in our daily living—by presenting our bodies as living sacrifices, holy and acceptable to Him (Romans 12:1), walking in love (Ephesians 5:2), and doing all things to His glory (Colossians 3:17). Our goal is to live a life of continual devotion and praise to God.
